NEWSFLASH  -     TRANSMITTER TESTING

Despite the improved reliability of modern radio gear we continue to hear of incidents where models are lost due to radio problems.  The best way of knowing that your transmitter is pumping out a strong clean signal is to get it tested.  The club recommends that 36MHz transmitters be tested every few years or so.  It helps prevent lost models and accidents.  There are some events and venues where certified radios are mandatory.

The club is planning a testing day but needs to know how many members are interested.  The testing will be carried out by Bob Stapleton and is cheap ($25 for a transmitter and 2 receivers, additional receivers $5).  If you would like to get your radio(s) tested please advise Wayne Baker at wayne.baker@mrt-rrt.gov.au or ring him on 9276 5225 (work) or let one of the other committee members know.  As soon as we have numbers we’ll book the man and arrange a venue.

Currently there is no testing procedure available for 2.4GHz type radios.
