2.4Ghz Update (October 2008)

The SSSFA’s Garawarra field is still experiencing intermittent problems with the use of 2.4Ghz radio equipment midweek.

Your committee has been in contact with both the MAAA and MAS requesting assistance to find out what’s happening at Garawarra.

Members using Heathcote oval have indicated they are not having any problems.

Note; This problem is only at Garawarra and there have been no problems at weekends.

I would like to thank all members for their help and understanding in this matter. The original post regarding 2.4Ghz has been moved to the “articles of interest” area on our web site. (QV Above)

Please report any incidents to the committee ASAP.

ILLEGAL DUMPING.
Recently we had an instance of a truck driver attempting to enter our Garrawara Field to dump rubbish.
Fortunately, some of our members warned him off as they were closing the gate, he came back 10 minutes later and took off as soon as he saw one of our members.
Since this incident the amount of dumping occuring along the highway between the Waterfall turn off and our field has increased dramatically.
I have reported this incident to the Police and Wollongong council and both are investigating.
The Rego number of the truck our members saw was taken.
Please keep an eye out for any dumping activity, and report the details to the committee or Wollongong council.

Working Bee - 25/10/08 - report

You will be pleased to know that the working bee went of very well, we had about 28 members turn up.
The jobs done included.

All the thistles sprayed,
Fence line cleared from dam end to the end of the cross runway and sprayed to the end of the existing fence,
Whipper snipping in may areas,
Sides of road trimmed of shrubs,
Holes in runway repaired,
Some road repairs carried out but the recent truck movements are causing more damage,
All sausages eaten!

I haven't measured the length of the fence required as yet, maybe this weekend.

As per Bob Davisons email, we need to inform all members that there will be no more placing of dirt or anything else allowed at Garrawarra, NO EXCEPTIONS.
In the past we have refured people to Frank for his approval on this matter, but it's getting out of control.

Regards
Howard Cooper (President)
